Relaxed Crew Marcy Tee

A Pima cotton and modal blend combines the two most luxurious plant-based fibers available for tee construction. Pima cotton has extra-long staple fibers that produce a smoother, softer, pill-resistant yarn. Modal is a semi-synthetic fiber from beech tree pulp — 50% more absorbent than cotton, naturally silky in drape, and more resistant to shrinkage than standard cotton. Together at 50/50, they create a fabric that's featherlight (140 gm²), breathable, non-sheer, and softer than either fiber alone — with a fluid drape that flatters without clinging.

A fitted tee follows the body's natural contours — it skims the bust, waist, and hip closely without clinging, creating a tailored silhouette. A relaxed tee has extra room through the body and falls more loosely, prioritizing ease of movement and an effortless, laid-back aesthetic over definition. In the same fabric, a relaxed fit will have more breathing room at the torso, a slightly longer body, and a more casual drape. Mott & Bow's Relaxed Marcy is cut with 1" more body length than the Fitted Marcy, with extra room through the torso — same Pima cotton / modal fabric, same curved hem, significantly more comfort.

A V-neck dips at the center front, creating a pointed opening that elongates the neck and adds a feminine, open frame to the neckline. A crew neck closes near the collarbone with a rounded collar, creating a more casual, versatile aesthetic that works in a wider range of settings. The V-neck is generally considered more flattering on broader shoulders and bustier frames (the V creates a visual lengthening effect); the crew neck is more universally adaptable across body types and occasions. Both versions of the Relaxed Marcy Tee use the same 50% Pima cotton / 50% modal fabric, body length, curved hem, and extended sleeves — the choice is purely about neckline preference.

For a relaxed women's tee, a body length of 25–26 inches from the high point shoulder (HPS) is the most versatile range — it hits below the hip without reaching mid-thigh, works both tucked and untucked, and provides full coverage when reaching or bending. Shorter relaxed tees (under 24") can look cropped unintentionally; longer ones (over 27") can add visual weight at the thigh.
